Innovative, Interactive and Intriguing Oct 28, 2008 I am an elementary school teacher and came across this book while perusing titles to use for a book club in my classroom of 2nd graders.
I allowed my students the final say in which book we'd read and story map after narrowing our title choices down to three.
The Voyagers Series by Will D. Rhame was the perfect choice.
My students and I absolutely love this book!! Even though it has a higher level Lexile (1020 Lexile) my 8 & 9 year olds are having no problem with this book and can't get enough of it.
This book is a one of a kind.... multi-media, online interactive, learning experience.
We began the first 2 chapters as a read aloud and soon learned we could not proceed until we discovered a precise code which we then had to enter into the web site that correlates with the adventure story.
My students worked hard to discover the code and were thrilled to be able to proceed to the next chapter (online) which is the next step in continuing the adventure. Incorporated into the web site are games with advanced challenges.
This is one book we as a class do not want to end!! Hopefully there will be more to come very soon.
Teachers...there is even a "Teacher Guide" that you can download to help with codes, lesson planning etc.
This book is the answer to helping all children to fall in love with reading!!!

Amazing simply amazing Dec 01, 2007 I stumbled onto this book when looking for a gift for my friends daughter, and there are many things that can be said about this book. First and most importantly I must say that the art work was breath taking. Never have I ever seen such beautiful images that expressed everything so perfectly. Ruben Maldonado really knew what he was doing when he created the magnificent art that is portrayed in this book. However I only gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because the writing wasn't the best. I would recommend this as a gift more so for the art then for the writing.

Great, Fun Book Nov 28, 2007 Purchased the book for my niece. Great story and indeed a learning experience. Looking forward to a sequel! This is a book that parent and child could enjoy together. This book is not only fun but a great tool for growing their thinking skills. I won't be surprised if it ends up in the school system.
