The Mechanism of Guaranteed Scientific Prediction

Synopsis: Arguably, the principle of falsification by Karl Popper has hitherto been considered to set the line of demarcation between science and non-science. The principle is indeed a necessary condition, requiring a theory of prediction to be testable and to withstand being falsified, but is seen here as not sufficient to prove a predictive theory guaranteed to work. Alternatively, the concept of 'synchronous causal identities' is proposed here as the mechanism of guaranteed scientific prediction, providing the distinction between science and non-science, regularly updated empirical theories of prediction excepted. That force as 'cause', is a mathematical abstraction defined as the common currency of exchange linking the various forms of physical energy, is pointed out. Abstract force or 'cause', measured as its 'effect', a differential state of inertia: observable 'mass x acceleration', is the space derivative of potential energy, through the latter's formulation as the space integral of the same abstract force or 'cause'. This is a reversible transformation, and shows that such necessarily connected 'cause' and 'effect' dualities are synchronous and not sequential. Thus, abstract 'causes' necessarily connected through such synchronous identities to corresponding observable and measurable 'effects', enable guaranteed prediction in the mechanical sciences. Likewise, do probability propensities enable guaranteed prediction in quantum mechanics and in biological evolution.
