Good reading but not integral Nov 20, 2008 although ed tseng's book is definitely one that is worth reading, it is not something that i, a tennis player consider essential for playing the game of tennis. although this book focuses more on the mental side of the game, i would have rathered mr. tseng focused more on the game as a whole. although sports are very mental, there is a large physical aspect to them as well. for instance, getting in shape and staying in shape are integral towards playing tennis or every sport for that matter. practicing and sometimes even having the money to buy the expensive equipment that come along with the game also play a huge factor. although mr. tseng's gung ho attitude which condones the phrase "if you think you can, then you can" is quite uplifting and cordial, i feel that it is quite unrealistic and fails to touch upon the many aspects of the sport that are not physical; the first one being, not everyone can play tennis and then go on from there. mr. tseng entertains the theory of the all mental side of the game but does not explain the rigorous physical conditioning of tennis; this could even make a 500 pound couch potato think he's ready to play roger federer as long as he has a positive mindset. although this maybe a stretch i think mr. tseng needs to come down to earth with his thinking and think about one very cruel, yet necessary phrase, "not everyone is cut out for tennis or sports and for those who are, it takes years of long work, both mentally and physically to get to the point where mr. tseng is at now".

An Exceptional Resource Oct 23, 2008 Ed Tseng's book is a gem of wisdom, insight, and inspiration. It is a rich collection of lessons that includes quotes, stories, allegories, and substantial theoretical and research-based strategies for peak performance. Though it may be invaluable to all who pick it up, athletes, students, life-coaching clients, teachers, and coaches, will find themselves positively transformed by this book.
As a practicing school psychologist and college professor, this publication has improved my professional reasoning and habits and has already profoundly improved the lives of my students and clients. It is my students' favorite required course reading.

Edward Tseng's book entitled: "Game. Set. Life : Peak Performance for Sports and Life". Oct 21, 2008 It is not the triumph; it is the doing, in tennis as well as in life. Edward's gem "Game. Set. Life : Peak Performance for Sports and Life" is full of valuable "lessons" to help guide us on how to tackle problems, to focus on the ball, to right the wrong and to achieve the possible dream. Compact in size for handy reference, a good "playbook" for everyone.
In many ways, Edward's "Game. Set. Life" reflects the author's fine character. To name an example: Compassion. Compassion is a heartwarming act of humanity.
There is a place in Edward's heart. He sincerely wants to help people optimize in general, including special persons. He helped an athlete to win a gold medal in the Special Olympics Summer Games, and I am sure with the help of "Game. Set. Life.," many of us will win a gold in our lives, too.
This significant book is full of meaningful words of wisdom. It will inspire and motivate people to perform at their best and achieve success. I highly recommend the "Game. Set. Life : Peak Performance for Sports and Life" to readers of all ages.

Must Read. Oct 11, 2008 When is a tennis book not only about tennis? When it's this book! Ed teaches how to improve your game on the court and off. Attitude and beliefs create everything; you will achieve what you believe you will. A must read for everyone.
