4How often can you read a TRUE adventure?  Jul 22, 2008
Husband and daughter met John and Libby on the Colorado summit of McClure Pass, and came back to the campsite with this book. We'd been reading Bernard Cornwell's Saxon novels out loud, but switched to FIRST IMPRESSIONS for the ride home. What a great read! Exciting, intriguing, and even a few dangerous moments. John's book is that of a first-timer, but I hope he does many more. Husband and I did a three-month motorcycle trip B.K. (before kids), living on chicken noodle soup, hotdogs and traveling across the country. John and Libby's hitchhiking honeymoon brought back many a fond memory.

4Fasinating glimpse of America from a different perspective  Feb 17, 2008
Perhaps the character types mentioned in some of John Steinbeck's novels are closer to reality then I thought after reading about some of the people that picked John and my cousin Libby up while they were hitch hiking. John and Libby not learned more about America in their travels, they discovered themselves and the miracle of their partnership together.

5Great Adventure!  Oct 27, 2007
I met the author at school, where I was teaching and he was giving a presentation. Through our discussion afterwards, being a writer also, I found out about the book and ordered it.

I got it and, despite being very busy, finished it in two and a half days. It was a great adventure and nicely written. I wanted to keep reading!

Great book and an inspiring true life tale of love, trust, and determination!
